Powder Horn: (FOR SALE) $1000.00
- Construction is a late-1700's styling
This is a fully water-tight, air-tight working powder horn with a significant amount of hand cut scrimshaw artwork
- The rear of the horn has authentic to the era, Pine wood butt plug with hand wrought steel, heat tempered, staple
- Scrimshaw covers entire horn, front and back
- Relief carved banner with "Don't Tread on Me!" on front side
- Tip of horn has been slabbed into octagonal shape
- Antique ebony violin key has been used for the tip plug
- Display stand is made from black walnut and ambrosia hard maple

- Walnut "finial filling plug" also unthreads from the rear plug for easy filling of the horn
- Designed to be an historically accurate way to store tobacco to be used with Peace Pipes, or other herbs.

Priming Horns #11 & #12 Description:
- Scrimshaw by Mark DeCou, Front: Bull Moose with tracks
- Horn construction by Gale Acres (Iowa)
- Completely air tight, suitable for storage of black powder without caking.
- These two scrimshaw pieces were completed in May, 2000 but were never paid for by Gale Acres, a muzzleloading trader from Iowa. If you bought them from him please let me know, so that I can contact him with proof of his sale of these pieces. Rumor is that they were sold at a gun show in Topeka, KS in June or July of 2000.
