Arts & Crafts Entertainment Center and Curio Cabinet (SOLD)
Wood is Quartersawn White Oak, hand selected, premium flaked grain used.
Hand-Carved doors on the front have the music score to "Amazing Grace" (carving by M. DeCou)
Tenon Pegs are walnut.
The side panels, are solid, resawn Quartersawn White Oak, bookmatched, with Walnut Butterfly Dovetails.
Behind all front doors are 3 walnut drawers in each cabinet with CD, DVD, VHS, and Cassette Tape Storage
Center curio cabinet has a mirrored back, and static touch lights in the cabinet.
Electronic Cabinet has a cooling fan, with vertical cooling vents from the bottom of the cabinet to the top.
Door Handles are hand-hammered Copper Music Notes (copper work by M. DeCou).
   

Arts & Crafts Orchid Plant Stand with Wine Rack (SOLD)

Wood is Quartersawn White Oak, hand selected, premium flaked grain used.

Hand-Carved lettering on the front is a quote from Gandhi, provided by the customer.
Door Carvings are in solid White Oak (by M. DeCou)
The right panel is a botanical representation of a Phalaenopsis Orchid, the left panel is a Cattleya Orchid.
The side panels, are solid, resawn Quartersawn White Oak, bookmatched, with Walnut Butterfly Dovetails.
Tenon Pegs are walnut.
Wine Rack was built from Walnut
Glass Doors have copper plated double wire mesh
Door Handles are hand-hammered Copper Orchid Flowers and Leaves (copper work by M. DeCou)

36" wide, 18" tall, 21" deep.
Wood is Quartersawn White Oak, hand selected, premium flaked grain used.

Bottom Shelf is solid White Oak with Through Tenons and Walnut Tenon Pegs
Tenon Pegs are walnut.
Glass Top is 1/4" thick Tempered Glass with 1" wide beveled edge (provided by Bell Mirror and Glass, Wichita, KS)
Display Top tilts open on Copper Hinges.
Display Top props are hidden in the side of the base frame
Top locking mechanism is hand-hammered copper White Oak Leaves with Acorn working as a hook (by M. DeCou)
backside of table has matching copper Leaves/Acorns, but are do not operate.
   
Arts & Crafts Couch (SOLD)
84" wide, 30" tall, 34" deep.
Wood is Quartersawn White Oak, hand selected, premium flaked grain used.
Upholstery is done in Paprika premium leather, by Allen's Upholstery in Wichita, KS (link in Favorites)
Hand-Carved lettering on the front is an Hawaiian proverb, translated into English.
The carved side panels, and three back panels are of White Oak Leaves and Acorns.
The carved back center panel says "Quercus Alba" which is the botanical name for White Oak.
Tenon Pegs are walnut.

Description: Morris Chair w/ Ottoman: Bench-Made by Mark DeCou (Chairs Pictured are "SOLD")
Wood: Quarter Sawn White Oak, hand-selected, highly figured. Bent laminated arms are all solid wood, Quarter Sawn White Oak. No plywood, or veneer was used.
Reclining: The back adjusts, reclining to 5 different positions.
Upholstery: As shown, 9030 Russet Red premium leather material, 6" thick seat & 5" thick back cushion of high density premium foam. Upholstery work shown by Allen's Upholstery in Wichita, KS. Cushions are supported by Quarter Sawn White Oak frames/slats.
Joinery: Through-Mortise & Tenon joints. No biscuits, no plywood, no CNC machines, no factory short-cuts were used.
Panel Hand Carving: by Mark DeCou, three White Oak leaves & Three Acorns, on each side of the chair, and 1 White Oak leaf on each side of the Ottoman.
Lettering: by Mark DeCou, Handcarved Wisdom phrase "Acorns Become Mighty Oaks", and "Wisdom is the Tree of life".
